Senior Pastor

Daniel Ying joined Redeemer Montclair in July 2012 to serve as the senior pastor. He completed his undergraduate studies at Yale University (1989, B.A. in East Asian Studies) and his theological studies at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (1994, M.Div.), Westminster Theological Seminary (1999, Th.M.), and Covenant Theological Seminary (2011, D.Min.). Prior to coming to Redeemer Montclair, Dan has served as a pastor both in central NJ and in the Chicago metro area. He is married to Tina and they have two daughters, Jenika, Annalie, and a son, Riley. In his spare time, Dan enjoys reading, watching his kids play sports, and eating out with Tina.

Church Administrator

Sonya Rold serves as our Church Administrator and has been attending Redeemer Montclair for over 20 years. She graduated from Taylor Business Institute with an executive secretarial degree and has an extensive history of work in office settings including manufacturing and distribution companies, and the Business Office of public schools. Sonya and her husband, Bobby, live in Clifton and have been married for 28 years, and they have two young adult daughters. Sonya loves to cook and eat out, garden, and walk and play outdoors.

Assistant Administrator

Yurah Kim has served as administrative assistant since 2012. She is active in the Moms in Prayer group of Short Hills, the Threads of Hope Compassion Ministry, the Morris County Community Group, and occasionally teaches in the Children’s Ministry. She has a BS in mathematics and a Master of Education and taught high school mathematics and chemistry. She is busy raising her two sons, Holden and Harlan, with her husband Harry. She enjoys volunteering at her sons’ schools, knitting and crocheting, gardening and tutoring.

Children’s Ministry Director

Mindy Houng serves as the Children’s Ministry Director overseeing all aspects of the children’s ministry program at Redeemer Montclair. Mindy earned a Bachelor of Science from The College of New Jersey (1997) and a Doctor of Medicine from Rutgers-New Jersey Medical School (2000). She and her husband, Abe, live in Short Hills with their four children. She enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and getting lost in music. Mindy loves working with our children to guide their hearts and minds closer to Jesus and to our community.

Children’s Ministry Classroom Coordinator

Lindsay serves as the Classroom Coordinator for Redeemer Kids. She is a former public school educator (B.A., Colorado State University) and current homeschooling parent. She believes that building up the hearts and minds of children is a sacred mission, and she has a special place in her heart for kids with disabilities. She lives in West Orange with her husband Mike, her two kids, two rescue cats, and one energetic dog. When she’s not being walked by the dog she enjoys reading, listening to podcasts, and birding.

Music Director

Allison is married to Caleb Rumley and together they are the music directors at Redeemer Montclair Church. They have two children, Billie and CJ. Allison is a singer - songwriter based out of Garfield, New Jersey. In 2022, she received an Artist Fellowship from the Mid - Atlantic Arts Foundation for her work as a songwriter. She has also performed at The Apollo Theatre, The Stone Pony and has toured with recording artist Morgan James. Allison graduated from William Paterson University in 2015 with a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Popular Music Studies. When she is not making music, Allison enjoys trying out new restaurants, camping and binging a good show on Netflix.

Music Director

Caleb is married to Allison Rumley and together they are the music directors at Redeemer Montclair Church. They have two children, Billie and CJ. Caleb is a trombonist, arranger, and composer based out of Garfield, New Jersey. He is an active jazz musician in a variety of styles in the NYC area. Caleb graduated from William Paterson University in 2016 with a Master’s Degree in Jazz Performance/Music Education. Caleb enjoys playing video games on his Nintendo switch, watching jazz trombone videos and collecting vinyl records.

Communications Coordinator

Liz Smith serves as the church communications coordinator. She is a Smith College graduate with a degree in theater, and she has a master’s in library science from Rutgers. Liz has worked for American Bible Society, the New York Public Library, and the Museum of the City of New York in various communications capacities. She is a native New Yorker but has also lived in the Boston and Philadelphia areas. Liz enjoys being an aunt to her two nieces, who are in their 20s.

Finance Manager

Gayle Gann serves as the church finance manager. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in International Affairs from New York University. Gayle and her husband, Kevin, have four children and five grandchildren. They live in West Orange with their daughter, Katie. Their three adult children are married. Gayle loves spending time with her family, gardening as well as biking and road-tripping with her husband!

Digital Media Coordinator

Cristina serves as Redeemer Montclair’s Digital Media Coordinator. She received a B.A. in English from New York University and a M.S. in Information Systems from Pace University. She worked in technology in the financial services industry prior to becoming a mom. Cristina and her husband have three children and live in Little Falls. She enjoys reading good books, taking leisurely bike rides, and spending time with her wonderful family.
