Who We Are
Redeemer Montclair exists to be a faith community that is centered on Jesus, transformed by grace, and equipped to serve.
We believe that God’s unchanging message of Jesus Christ is so life changing, satisfying, and fulfilling that it must be communicated to each generation in contemporary, culturally relevant language, forms, and styles.
Established in 2001, Redeemer Montclair is a gospel-centered church planted by members from Redeemer Presbyterian Church in NYC.
Our worship service combines rich historical liturgy with Christ-centered preaching and a musical blend of traditional, jazz and contemporary genres.
We are diverse in age and ethnicity and remain rooted in the historic Christian beliefs expressed in the Westminster Confession of Faith. We are a congregation aligned with the Presbyterian Church in America.
We hope that you will join us in your spiritual journey.
Centered on Jesus
We believe that the good news of the gospel is that Jesus Christ came into this world to seek and save the lost, and that we can be rescued from our sins by grace through faith in Jesus Christ and what he has accomplished for us. As the foundation of our identity and the power of our growth, the gospel is at the center of who we are and what we do.
Transformed by Grace
We believe that the Christian life is wholly a response to and an overflow of God’s grace. The way that we are transformed as the people of God is by applying the grace of the gospel to every area of life. Though sometimes unseen and often slow, the genuine work of God’s grace in the human heart produces lasting change from the inside out.
Equipped to Serve
We believe that the gospel, which first calls us to Christ and the church, equips us to serve, and sends us out into the world to proclaim the gospel and pour out our lives in love for others. As we are sent out to serve those around us, we hope to be part of a larger gospel movement that brings personal transformation, hope, justice, beauty and renewal to Montclair, the surrounding communities, and the world.
